Do GameOn hold my credit/debit card number on their servers?
NO, GameOn don't keep your debit/credit card number, when you submit your card details on our secure server they are transmitted using industry standard 128bit SSL encryption to the acquiring banks.
We have no need to log your card numbers, this job is done by the acquiring banks. We store a transaction identifier, so we can query transactions, so we don’t even need to log your card number. We do log certain details such as card type and the name on the card, this is for anti-fraud measures.
What credit/debit cards can I pay with?
Visa
MasterCard
Delta
Switch
Solo
Do I have to pay my ticket price all at once?
Event tickets have to be paid in FULL this saves the confusion of trying to collect outstanding amounts at a later date.
I don't have any cards, is there anyway I can use someone else's card?
The pre-pay system allows any card details to be entered for payment; invoices and credit notes will be sent to the card holder.
Can I pay for other players tickets?
Yes you can.
If I pay for another player’s ticket, what happens if they cancel?
You have the facilities to view all your transactions with GameOn, and you can refund payment transactions if a refund is available. If someone you have paid for cancels their booking, our system will not issue a refund until you request it.
What if you just don't like paying over the net regardless?
You have two options:
- Get a friend to pay.
- Contact us to pay directly in to one of our banks (no discount available with this option)
I don't have a card that you accept; can I still pay at the LAN?
No, you can no longer pay at the LAN, if you don't have a bank account or credit/debit card, you have 2 options:
- Get a friend to pay for you.
- Pay money directly in to one of our braches of Banks. (no discount available with this option)
I really don't know if I can make it due to "reason x" can I just come along and pay at the door?
At the moment - simple answer to this will be "NO". We are trying to sort out an on the door payment but this will cost more once it’s sorted and we will NOT guaranty spaces until the day of the event, plus you would have to contact us on the day of the event to see if we can accommodate you.
Is there a certain date I have to pay by?
Yes, the bookings close 7 days before the start date of an event (normally this would be the Friday before the event, but this does depend on what day the an event starts)
If I get cut off half way through the billing process, will I have to start again?
There is no 100% way of protecting yourself against connection difficulties, so with that in mind we have designed the system to be as robust as possible. It’s nearly impossible for you to pay more than once for a ticket, because all the transactions are registered and the system checks to see what transactions have been made previously before it tries to authorise a payment.
So if you clicked "Pay Now" and got cut off before you received a response from our server, then you have a couple of options:
- Get connected again!
- Check the e-mail address that was used against the transaction to see if you have any invoice e-mails or booking confirmation from the system
- Login and check your transactions, see what our system says.
- Check the status our your booking by looking at the "Your Bookings" of your MyLAN control panel.
- Check the attendance list and see what your status is on there
Normally when you send a request to any server, the server will complete the request in full, and then try to send you a response. This means that if you clicked "Pay Now" and then lost connectivity. There is a very high chance that your transaction was registered on our system. That doesn’t mean that the payment was authorised, but it does mean that our server will have tried to do something with the details you supplied.
- If our system didn’t register any transaction then it’s 99% certain that your card wasn’t billed, we can check our merchant account if you want 100% assurance.
- If our system registered the transaction but didn’t authorise the payment then you won’t be booked in. You can follow the normal process and book your place.
- If our system registered the transaction and payment was authorised, then you need to contact us. Your booking status will be incomplete and we will need to adjust it.
The most important thing to do if you have had problems and you’re in doubt of the status of things is to contact us and we will be more than happy to straighten things out.
What if (for x reason) I somehow pay twice, what happens then?
The system is designed against this, however IF this circumstance arises, we will be more than happy to refund the amount you have overpaid. Any refunds are credited to the card used to pay for the ticket.
How can tell I’ve paid and booked successfully?
When you have paid you will be presented with a "Payment Successful" page. Once you have confirmed your booking, you will be presented with the "Booking Success" page. All the details you need will be on those pages.
Other ways of checking:
- You will be e-mailed an invoice for any payments you make and a booking confirmation.
- You can check your transactions history to see your payments.
- You can check "Your Bookings" to see the status of your booking at ANY time. Your booking confirmation number will also be available there.
How do I prove who I am when I turn up at an event?
You will need your booking confirmation code. Entry will be refused without it.
Can I save my seat for future events that haven’t been planned yet?
At the moment there isn't any way to do this, if enough people are interested we would be happy to have something coded so you can pay in advance for future events and be automatically booked in for events that you have sufficient credit for.
Yes, we offer an early booking discount. To take advantage you must pay for your ticket before the discount period expires. This is normally 10 days from when event bookings are opened. Not x days from when you signed up.
Yes, we do offer refunds to our customers, the following conditions apply:
- Refunds are only available if you cancel before the refund cut-off date, the cut-off date this is normally 14 days before an event. Refunds cannot be given after the refund cut-off date has been reached.
- If a refund is available 75% of the paid ticket price will be refunded to the card that was used to pay for the ticket. The 25% covers our refund transaction and cancellation charges.
- If another player paid for your ticket, you will NOT be able to refund it. Only the player who paid for it will be able to refund the ticket. You can still cancel your booking, but you ticket will remind paid for until the paying player authorises a refund, if one is available.
What happens if another player paid for my ticket and that player refunds that ticket?
If this ever happens you will be classed as NOT paid, and will be placed in the "Not Paid" group on the attendance list. You will be removed from any seating group you were in and any seating group request you might have made will be deleted. It’s effectively the same as choosing the "Pay Later" option when booking.
You will have to find other means of paying for your ticket to secure your seat.
Why can’t I get a refund in full?
This is to stop people messing about signing on and off paying/refunding, each transaction costs us money from paying to refunding there is also administration costs to consider.
One of the main reasons we have chosen to use pre-pay is because too many people give us short notice when they cannot make an event. Last minute cancellations cost us dearly because we rely on a certain number of tickets being paid for to cover all the cost of running an event.
In the past we have even run events at a loss, so our customers who have booked for an event still have an event to go to. This HAS to stop and we hope these measures will deter timewasters and last minute cancellations.
Is there any way I can get a refund in full?
Yes, under the following conditions a full refund is available, the refund has to be requested and we have to deem it valid:
- GameOn cancels an event
- GameOn change the dates of an event (not start or finish times)
- If GameOn remove a "confirmed" tournament or organised game which was advertised with prizes available, you would be entitled to a full refund - even if the refund cut-off date has passed
Can I Transfer my payment to next LAN?
No, not at the moment. This feature is work in progress.
Can GameOn find out the status of my bank account or credit/debit card?
No, we have no access to such information, we only pass your details to authorise a payment or refund. It’s an autonomous system that doesn’t require interaction.
